合掌造りで有名な富山の五箇山では、1,200年以上も昔から越中和紙を漉（す）いていました。

私どもは先人が残してくれた和紙づくりの技術、技法を受け継ぎながら、和紙の原料となる楮（こうぞ）を畑で育てるところから紙漉きまで、昔ながらのやり方を守り続けています。現在は五箇山にただ一つ残る一貫した生産農家として、こだわりの「悠久紙」を作っています。
春の楮畑の手入れに始まり、夏の草刈り、楮の芽かき・間引き、秋の刈り取り、そして冬は楮の皮剥ぎから雪晒し（ゆきさらし）…。昔と変わらない手間暇をかけた手作業で和紙作りを行っています。いうならば、悠久紙は五箇山産の楮とトロロアオイ、湧き水のみで漉かれた天然の和紙なのです。
こうしてできた純楮和紙は、強くて優美。「千年近く経ても墨の色も紙の色も変わらない」といわれ、昭和49年以来、桂離宮や国指定重要文化財の古文書の修復などに"悠久紙"が使われています。

悠久紙の優れた耐久性と品質、そしてお客様の信頼こそが、私どもの誇りです。

We are committed to producing pure washi made from 100% natural materials, and we control the entire process, starting from cultivating the mulberry (the base material of the paper).
The result is the brand name washi "Yukyu-shi". We take pride in its quality and durability, which are so high it is said our washi lasts for one thousand years, and as the finest washi in the country, it is used i the restoration and reparation of important cultural properties including Katsura Rikyu Imperial Villa, Kyoto Gosho Imperial Palace as well as ancient documents.
